**Kathmandu, Nepal** – A team of 14 male climbers has secured permits to ascend Dhaulagiri, the seventh-highest mountain in the world, located in Myagdi, Nepal. The Department of Tourism confirmed the permits, reporting a decrease in climbers compared to last spring, when 22 men and 8 women obtained permission to climb the same peak.
Hari Prasad Tilija, a ward member of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4 and a hotelier at the Italy Base Camp, stated that the climbers, along with support staff, are currently preparing to arrive at the base camp.
This year, a total of 362 climbers from 54 countries have secured permits to climb 10 mountains in Nepal, with 88 women and 274 men participating.
