**NEW YORK/BEIJING:** China has pledged its unwavering support for Lebanon in the wake of Israeli attacks, emphasizing its commitment to safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. This pledge was made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib in New York.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Chinese Communist Party Politburo, assured Lebanon that China will stand by its Arab brethren, including Lebanon, regardless of changing circumstances. In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, China declared it is closely monitoring the escalating situation in the Middle East, including the recent destruction of communication infrastructure in Lebanon, and strongly condemns attacks against civilians.
Wang Yi further highlighted China’s commitment to fostering peace in the Middle East through collaborative efforts with Arab nations and the international community.
