Wed Sep 25 09:54:16 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh to Receive 8 Kumki Elephants from Karnataka to Control Elephant Attacks

**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh:** In a bid to curb the escalating elephant attacks in Andhra Pradesh, the state government is set to receive eight Kumki elephants from Karnataka. These trained elephants will be deployed to the Parvatipuram Manyam and Chittoor districts, areas most affected by elephant herds venturing into human settlements.

The initiative is spearheaded by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who has been working tirelessly to find a solution to the growing elephant menace. Kalyan recently held discussions with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the state’s Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre, highlighting the need for Kumki elephants to control the situation.

Following these talks, representatives and officials from both states will meet on July 27th to sign an agreement for the transfer of the elephants.

Kalyan expressed his satisfaction with the quick resolution to this pressing issue, stating that the solution was found within 100 days of his government coming into power. He shared this news on his social media platform.

The arrival of these Kumki elephants is expected to provide a much-needed deterrent to the elephant herds, minimizing the damage caused to human life and property.
