**Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan** – Russia and Kyrgyzstan are collaborating on a major project to construct nine Russian-language schools across the country, according to an interview with Kyrgyz Ambassador to Russia, Kubanychbek Bokontaev, published in Izvestia.

This initiative, launched on September 1st, 2023 by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, marks the largest joint social project in recent years. The schools are expected to provide access to quality Russian-language education for Kyrgyz students.

Construction is already underway in Bishkek, Batken, and Karakol, with project documentation for additional schools in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Osh, Talas, and Chuy regions currently under review.

Ambassador Bokontaev emphasized the ongoing and active cooperation between the two countries on this project, highlighting its significance for strengthening ties between the two nations.

The construction of these schools is a testament to the strong relationship between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, further solidified by Kyrgyzstan’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which has positively impacted the Kyrgyz economy.
