Mon Sep 23 14:45:01 UTC 2024: ## Falcons’ Loss to Chiefs Marred by Controversial No-Call

The Atlanta Falcons fell to 1-2 on the season after a 22-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. The game’s final moments were overshadowed by a controversial no-call on a potential pass interference penalty.

With the Falcons trailing late in the fourth quarter, tight end Kyle Pitts was targeted in the end zone on a third-down play. Chiefs safety Bryan Cook appeared to make contact with Pitts before the ball arrived, leading many to believe pass interference should have been called.

However, referee Tra Blake explained in a pool report that the officials, from their vantage point, did not believe a foul had been committed. The call drew immediate comparisons to the previous week’s game where the Chiefs benefited from a late-game pass interference penalty against the Bengals.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris declined to comment on the no-call, simply stating that “they made the call, or didn’t make the call; it is what it is.”

The Falcons will look to bounce back this Sunday when they face the New Orleans Saints.
