Tue Sep 24 00:51:28 UTC 2024: ## City Vow Revenge After Arsenal Draw: Title Race Heats Up

Manchester City have vowed to reclaim the Premier League title from Arsenal after a dramatic 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. The match saw Arsenal employ a defensive, time-wasting strategy, frustrating City and drawing ire from their players.

City, who remain undefeated, took the lead early through Erling Haaland’s 100th goal for the club. However, Arsenal fought back, equalizing through Riccardo Calafiori on his debut and eventually taking the lead thanks to Gabriel’s header. The Gunners’ advantage was short-lived, though, as Leandro Trossard was sent off for a second yellow card.

Despite being down to ten men, Arsenal held on until the 95th minute, when John Stones’ stoppage-time equalizer salvaged a point for City.

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji, who was visibly frustrated with Arsenal’s tactics, said: “Yes, I don’t think there are many better than them at it [time-wasting], but in the end we always won the title and I don’t think it’s going to be different this year.”

Bernardo Silva added fuel to the fire, comparing Arsenal’s lack of trophies to that of Liverpool, stating: “Liverpool have already won a Premier League, Arsenal haven’t. Liverpool have won a Champions League, Arsenal haven’t. Liverpool always faced us face-to-face, to try to win the games.”

Despite the draw, Arsenal remain confident in their ability to challenge for the title. “It felt like two hours of defending,” said defender Jurrien Timber, “We’re gutted, disappointed, but also proud of the team because we gave everything we could.”

The draw marks a turning point in the title race, with City maintaining their lead but facing a determined and wily opponent in Arsenal. Both teams will be looking for revenge when they meet again later in the season.
