Tue Sep 24 18:05:32 UTC 2024: ## India to Field Three Spinners in Kanpur Test Against Bangladesh: Report

**Kanpur:** The second Test match between India and Bangladesh is set to take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27th. Both teams are expected to arrive in Kanpur today and begin their practice sessions.

However, the pitch conditions are expected to favour spin bowlers, leading to a possible change in the Indian team’s strategy. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the Kanpur pitch, made of black soil, will be flat and offer minimal bounce. The pitch is expected to slow down as the match progresses, similar to the pitches used in Mumbai.

This might prompt the Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, to field three spinners in the second Test. While Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja played in the first Test in Chennai, Kuldeep Yadav might join them in the playing eleven for the Kanpur match. This could lead to a reduction in the number of fast bowlers, with Akash Deep potentially missing out.

The Green Park Stadium has hosted 23 Test matches, with the team batting first winning 7 matches, and the team batting second winning 3. 13 matches have ended in draws. India’s last Test match at the venue, against New Zealand in November 2021, ended in a draw due to poor light on the final day.
