**Abuja, Nigeria** – The House of Representatives has extended congratulations to Monday Okpebholo on his victory in the Edo State governorship election. Okpebholo, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, a sitting member of the House representing Ovia Federal Constituency, secured victory with a total of 291,667 votes.
Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, described the election as a reflection of the Edo people’s desire for change and progress. He commended the election of Idahosa, highlighting the growing role of parliamentarians in shaping governance across Nigeria.
Abbas urged Okpebholo and Idahosa to work together for the benefit of the people of Edo State and to remain “good ambassadors of the National Assembly.” He also encouraged them to champion policies that will foster development in the oil-rich state.
