Tue Sep 24 00:11:52 UTC 2024: ## City’s Silva Takes Dig at Arsenal’s Trophy Cabinet and Tactics After Tense Draw

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has launched a scathing attack on Arsenal’s lack of trophies and their tactics following a dramatic 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

The Portuguese star, visibly frustrated after a tense encounter, criticized Arsenal’s perceived time-wasting tactics, claiming that “only one team came to play football.” He alleged that Arsenal’s approach was facilitated by the referee, citing several incidents including a perceived foul on Rodri in the opening minutes and a disallowed goal after Kyle Walker was called for a foul.

Silva further went on to criticize Arsenal’s lack of silverware compared to their rivals Liverpool. “Liverpool have already won the Premier League, Arsenal haven’t. Liverpool have won the Champions League, Arsenal haven’t,” he stated. “Liverpool always faced us face to face to try to win the games.”

This is not the first time a Manchester City player has publicly criticized Arsenal. Last season, Rodri claimed that City’s mentality was superior to Arsenal’s and cited their goalless draw in March as evidence that the Gunners were afraid to defeat the champions.

The heated encounter saw both teams clash at the end of the game, with City’s John Stones rescuing a point in the 98th minute. The match was marred by numerous injuries and a heavy focus on defensive tactics from the visitors, leading to over nine minutes of injury time.

Silva’s comments highlight the growing animosity between the two clubs, who are considered the leading contenders for the Premier League title. The fiery encounter at the Etihad has undoubtedly added another chapter to the rivalry, with the two sides set to meet again later in the season.
