Mon Sep 23 14:44:54 UTC 2024: ## Goedert Explodes for Career Game, Leading Eagles to Victory Over Saints

**New Orleans, LA** – In a game where the Eagles offense was ravaged by injuries, tight end Dallas Goedert stepped up in a big way, recording a career-high 10 catches for 170 yards and leading Philadelphia to a 15-12 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Goedert’s performance was particularly impressive considering the absence of key offensive weapons like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Britain Covey. With the Eagles trailing late in the fourth quarter, Goedert made several crucial catches, including a 61-yard reception that set up the game-winning touchdown.

“We knew it was man coverage,” Goedert said. “Jalen [Hurts] alerted the play, and Jahan [Dotson] did a great job picking for me legally. He made a couple defenders run into each other, and when I caught the ball, I just ran as fast as I could.”

Goedert’s performance was the second-highest receiving yard total ever allowed to a tight end by the Saints, trailing only Vernon Davis’ 180-yard game in 2012. The 61-yard catch was also the Eagles’ longest play in the final two minutes of a victory since 1988.

“Great call, and Dallas just made a great play,” said quarterback Jalen Hurts. “Getting the ball to the guy I needed to in that situation, and he did the rest.”

Goedert now leads all NFL tight ends with 239 total receiving yards, highlighting his continued importance to the Eagles offense. His career day helped Philadelphia secure their second win of the season and sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

“I’m really glad we were able to finish the job and get the win,” Goedert said. “It feels good, and I hope we can build on this as a team.”
