**Los Angeles, CA** – Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming film “Thunderbolts”, a dark ensemble piece that brings together a ragtag crew of Marvel villains for a government-sanctioned mission. The trailer, released on Monday, offers a glimpse into the dysfunctional dynamics of the group, highlighting a particularly strained relationship between skilled assassin Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and her father, Red Guardian (David Harbour).

In the trailer, Yelena confesses to her father her feelings of emptiness and lack of purpose, revealing she sought solace in her work. “There’s something wrong with me, an emptiness, I’m just drifting and I don’t have purpose,” she says, hinting at a deep-seated emotional turmoil. This comes on the heels of the death of her sister, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), a loss that continues to weigh heavily on Yelena.

The trailer also introduces the other members of the team, including Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Wyatt Russell (John Walker), and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, all of whom have experienced their own struggles with the darker sides of their past. “Everyone here has done bad things,” Yelena states, as the team finds themselves thrown together in a top-secret facility. “So, someone wants us gone.”

David Harbour, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, described the relationship between Alexei and Yelena as “terrible,” revealing that the film explores themes of mental illness and self-hatred. “I don’t think Alexei’s in the best place, and there’s a bit of an estrangement happening,” Harbour said. “Part of the film is… dealing with mental illness and self-hatred.”

“Thunderbolts” promises to be a unique addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, exploring the complexities of these characters and their shared struggles in a gripping, action-packed adventure.
