Mon Sep 23 16:11:56 UTC 2024: ## India Set to Dominate Bangladesh in Kanpur Test
The second and final Test match of the series between India and Bangladesh will take place in Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium starting September 27th. This will be India’s first Test at this venue since 2021, where they drew against New Zealand. India will be looking for a win to clinch the series 2-0 after their dominant 280-run victory in Chennai.
The Chennai Test saw a stellar performance from India, led by Ravichandran Ashwin’s all-round brilliance. Ashwin scored a century and took eight wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant also contributed significantly.
Adding to India’s advantage, they haven’t lost a Test match in Kanpur for 41 years, last succumbing to the West Indies in 1983. This record, coupled with the 8-year gap since their last win at the stadium, makes it a formidable challenge for Bangladesh, who will be facing India in Kanpur for the first time in Test cricket.
Although India has won only seven out of 23 Tests played in Kanpur since 1952, their record remains strong. They have lost three and drawn 13, proving their dominance at the venue.
All eyes will be on India as they aim to capitalize on their recent form and secure a convincing victory in Kanpur, adding to their impressive record at the ground.
