Sat Sep 21 22:51:11 UTC 2024: ## Atishi Sworn in as Delhi’s New Chief Minister

**New Delhi, September 21, 2024:** Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi was sworn in as Delhi’s third woman Chief Minister on Saturday, becoming the youngest to hold the position. The 43-year-old first-time legislator succeeds Arvind Kejriwal, who resigned to pave the way for her.

Atishi, a key figure in the AAP, previously managed the party’s operations during Kejriwal’s time in Tihar jail. Her brief tenure is expected to last until the Assembly elections in February.

As Delhi’s third woman Chief Minister, Atishi follows in the footsteps of Sushma Swaraj (BJP) and Sheila Dikshit (Congress). She is only the second woman currently serving as a Chief Minister in India, alongside Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal.

Atishi’s ascension marks a significant moment for the AAP and Delhi politics. Her leadership will be closely watched in the upcoming months as she navigates the state’s political landscape ahead of the crucial elections.
