Gotham City’s most notorious villain, The Penguin, takes center stage in the new HBO miniseries “The Penguin,” a direct follow-up to the 2022 film “The Batman.”

The show, premiering on HBO on Thursday, September 19, sees Colin Farrell reprise his role as Oswald “Oz” Cobb, taking viewers on a thrilling journey into the criminal underworld of Gotham.

As the city struggles in the aftermath of a devastating seawall collapse, Oz sees an opportunity to seize power. Seeking to fill the void left by Carmine Falcone’s demise, he embarks on a quest for dominance, all while vowing to give his mother, Francis (played by Deirdre O’Connell), the life he always promised.

The eight-episode series features an impressive cast, including Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor “Vic” Aguilar, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, and Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo.

Despite the initial premiere on Thursday, “The Penguin” will air weekly on Sundays starting September 24th at 6pm PT/8pm CT/9pm ET on HBO. Those without cable access can stream episodes on Max.

Fans of “The Batman” and DC Comics alike are eagerly anticipating the show’s exploration of The Penguin’s sinister rise to power in a Gotham ravaged by chaos.
