Salinas, California – A California couple was reunited with their beloved cat, Rayne Beau, after a mysterious 900-mile journey from Yellowstone National Park. The cat went missing in early June when the Anguiano family visited the park, running off into the dense forest and leaving his owners distraught.
Despite extensive searches and warnings from park staff about coyotes in the area, Rayne Beau was nowhere to be found. The couple was forced to leave without him, but Susanne Anguiano took a double rainbow appearing during their departure as a sign of hope.
Sixty days later, Rayne Beau was found at a shelter in Roseville, California, over 800 miles away. A woman in the area found him alone in the street and recognized him as a pet, bringing him to the shelter.
The Anguianos are still baffled as to how their cat traveled so far and how he knew the way home. Rayne Beau was significantly thinner than before his disappearance, weighing only 8 pounds compared to his previous 14.
While thankful for the safe return of their furry friend, the Anguianos are urging other pet owners to microchip their pets and register them online. This allowed them to track down Rayne Beau and reunite him with his family.
As the Anguianos continue to piece together the puzzle of Rayne Beau’s journey, they are encouraging anyone who might have seen him during his travels to come forward. Despite the harrowing experience, they are already planning future camping trips, but with a global tracker for Rayne Beau this time.
