**LONDON** – The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has summoned the Russian Ambassador today following Russia’s “malicious and deliberate” public campaign of aggression against the UK. The FCDO condemned Russia’s “unprecedented and unfounded” accusations against UK Foreign Office staff, calling them “completely baseless” and a “direct contravention” of Russia’s obligations under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The UK government labelled Russia’s behavior as “unacceptable, deeply unprofessional, and beneath the standards of conduct between states,” highlighting a pattern of activity aimed at undermining UK security and democracy, deterring support for Ukraine, and ultimately threatening international stability.
The FCDO accused Russia of engaging in a “deliberate campaign” of disinformation, acts of sabotage in Europe, and direct harassment and restrictions against UK diplomatic missions in Russia.
“This campaign will not succeed,” the FCDO stated. “Russia must stop this activity immediately.”
