**WASHINGTON, D.C. -** The Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) hosted the Advana Industry Day, bringing together government and industry leaders to discuss the future of the DoD’s enterprise data and analytics environment.

Advana, which stands for “advancing analytics,” is the DoD’s largest data system, providing users access to data from over 400 business systems along with tools and services for data-driven decision-making. The platform is undergoing a significant shift, transitioning from its current contracting model to a new open approach through a recompete process.

This move aligns with the CDAO’s Open Data and Applications Government-owned Interoperable Repositories (Open DAGIR) approach, which aims to:

* **Drive interoperability:** Foster collaboration between different systems and vendors.
* **Increase vendor competition:** Encourage greater participation from a wider range of companies.
* **Infuse best-of-breed industry solutions:** Leverage the latest and greatest technologies available in the market.

This change will help Advana scale to meet the growing needs of a diverse user base. The recompete also presents an unprecedented opportunity for industry to access government data and contribute solutions to address the DoD’s most pressing challenges.
