**Chennai, September 18, 2024:** The second edition of Sondham, a curated pop-up showcasing handlooms and handcrafted products, is set to take place on September 20 and 21 at @Studio Loco, CIT Colony, Mylapore.
Founder and curator Sunita Sekhar has curated a collection of traditional handloom saris and dupattas, alongside their signature koodai totes. This year, Sondham introduces koodai trays, offering a unique gifting and home decor option.
Sekhar has collaborated with weavers in West Bengal to bring in exquisite cotton saris, including indigo jamdani cottons crafted by master weaver Dev Nath. These intricate saris take two months to weave and showcase the traditional techniques of the region.
The koodai totes, launched at the inaugural edition, have been redesigned with contemporary aesthetics. Sekhar works with families in Coimbatore and Erode to create these totes and trays, infusing them with metallic colours and modern designs.
Joining Sondham are Kala Nele, a Bengaluru-based handloom house known for khunn, ilkal and kasuti weaves, and Chennai brand Brass Tacks, offering classic cotton outfits. Ela India showcases contemporary garments with hand-blocked fabrics, while Citrine brings modern silver accessories, and Miniverse features quirky silver jewelry with semi-precious stones.
Sondham promises a unique shopping experience, celebrating traditional crafts with a contemporary touch. The event will run from 10.30 am to 7 pm on both days. For details, call 72000 94881.
