**CARBONDALE, IL** – The Red Hill Salukis are set to join the Black Diamond Conference (BDC) in football starting next school year, replacing the Vienna-Goreville Eagles. The decision was made following a unanimous vote by BDC administrators at Rend Lake Golf Course on Wednesday.
BDC President Josh McCurren, the athletic director at Christopher High School, confirmed the invitation and stated that Red Hill officials have been contacted. The Red Hill school board will vote on the proposal on Monday.
The addition of the Salukis brings a new dynamic to the BDC, adding another competitive team to the conference. The departure of the Eagles leaves a void in the conference, but the addition of Red Hill promises to maintain the high level of competition within the BDC.
