Wed Sep 18 14:54:00 UTC 2024: ## Red Bull Shakes Up Leadership Ahead of 2024 Season

**LONDON** – Formula One champions Red Bull Racing are undergoing a major reshuffle within their racing team, promoting key personnel and filling vacancies left by departing senior staff.

Following the announcement of Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley’s move to become Sauber’s principal next year, Red Bull has promoted Max Verstappen’s race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, to a new Head of Racing role. Lambiase, who reports to Technical Director Pierre Wache, will continue his duties with the three-time world champion Verstappen.

Wheatley’s responsibilities will be divided, with Steve Knowles becoming Head of Sporting Regulations and Richard Wolverson taking charge of Race Team Operations.

These changes come amidst a wave of departures from Red Bull, including star designer Adrian Newey who will join Aston Martin in March.

“Jonathan moving on to take up a new challenge at Audi (Sauber) has actually provided a great opportunity to just reorganize how we go racing,” said Red Bull Team Boss Christian Horner. “It’s a step up for everyone. It’s a very strong front manoeuvre.”

The team currently sits 20 points behind McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship with seven rounds remaining, including the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend.
