**LAWRENCE, MA** – A Methuen man, Thomas Pizarro, 33, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Steven Hernandez, 33, who was found shot to death in Lawrence last weekend.
Pizarro was taken into custody on Wednesday in Boston by state troopers. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the murder charge Thursday in Lawrence District Court.
Hernandez was found suffering from gunshot wounds on Saturday morning in the 300 block of Water Street. He was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear. Essex District Attorney Paul Tucker has stated that more information will be released after Pizarro’s arraignment.
