**Fendall, Liberia (September 17, 2024):** Amidst concerns over a potential delay due to ongoing pay disputes, the Acting President of the University of Liberia (UL), Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh, has assured graduates from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law that their graduation will proceed as scheduled.
During a speech delivered on Tuesday, Dr. Conteh addressed fears raised by local news reports, stating that “no law school student who has met the requirements for graduation would be denied graduation.” He echoed the US Army’s motto, “No one will be left behind,” to emphasize his commitment to ensuring all eligible students graduate as part of the UL’s 104th Commencement Convocation.
Dr. Conteh has personally engaged with the Dean of the Law School, the Leadership of the Law School Student Association (LAWSA), and the UL Board of Trustees to address the issues surrounding the pay dispute and assure students that the matter is being resolved.
The Acting President’s statement provides much-needed reassurance to graduating law students who were understandably anxious about the situation. The 104th Commencement Convocation is currently underway and will continue for the remainder of the week.
