**TEHRAN, Sept. 17 (Xinhua)** – Iran has strongly condemned the simultaneous explosions of pagers across Lebanon, which killed at least eight people and injured over 2,800 others, including Hezbollah members. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, during a phone call with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib, called the incident a “terrorist action by Israel.”

Araghchi expressed solidarity with Lebanon and offered condolences, voicing Iran’s readiness to provide assistance for the injured, including the possibility of transporting them to Tehran. He also thanked the Lebanese government for its swift response in treating Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani, who was injured in the incident.

The Lebanese government, meanwhile, has vowed to investigate the incident, which Lebanese news website Elnashra claims was caused by the Israeli military targeting the batteries of the pagers. The injured have been transported to hospitals.

Following the explosions, Hezbollah, which was among the victims, declared a state of high alert and vowed to defend Lebanon and its people. They blamed Israel for the “criminal attack” and promised retaliation.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society has also announced its readiness to send emergency treatment teams to Lebanon to assist the injured.
