**Chennai, September 19:** The first test of the two-match series between India and Bangladesh commenced today at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second and final test will be played in Kanpur from September 27th.

This series marks India’s return to the cricket field after a month-long break. The Rohit Sharma-led team is eyeing a crucial victory in the World Test Championship, currently holding the top spot in the points table. India has reached the World Test Championship finals in both previous editions and aims for a third consecutive appearance in the finale.
