Thu Sep 19 08:08:00 UTC 2024: ## Ten Teams Ready to Battle in UAE for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Title

The 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates from October 3rd to 20th, with ten teams competing for the coveted trophy. The tournament kicks off with a clash between Bangladesh and Scotland at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and the final will be held at Dubai International Stadium.

Six teams qualified based on their performance at the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. Australia, the reigning champions, will be aiming for a record-breaking sixth title. England, the inaugural champions, will be looking to avenge their three final defeats. Meanwhile, India, the 2020 finalists, will be seeking a return to the final after falling just short against Australia in South Africa.

The West Indies, 2016 champions, will be joined by New Zealand, who finished third in Group 1 after impressive victories over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Pakistan, securing their spot through their ranking, will be hoping to make a breakthrough to the semi-finals.

Two teams emerged from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in May: Sri Lanka, who shocked South Africa in the opening match of the tournament, and Scotland, making their first appearance in the World Cup. Scotland’s journey was remarkable, starting with a victory over the Netherlands in the European Qualifier, followed by a historic win against Ireland in the global qualifier.

With a diverse field of contenders, the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup promises thrilling action and exciting battles for the title in the UAE.
