**Waco, TX** – The Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo is set to kick off its 11-day run from October 3rd to 13th, bringing back a proven formula of rides, music, rodeos, livestock shows, and more.
This year’s fair features a new Black Heritage Night on October 9th, a tribute to the late McLennan County Commissioner Patricia Miller, who had advocated for the inclusion. The event will feature contemporary soul and rhythm-and-blues performers Chris Walker and Regina Belle, a fashion show, and performance by Waco’s DJ Precyse.
The fair will also introduce a new Extreme Dogs stunt dog show in the Kids Zone, showcasing the dogs’ fetching, obstacle course racing, and other tricks. Other returning attractions include the Sea Lions Splash show, stick horse races, and mutton bustin’ contests.
The rodeo lineup is packed with exciting events, including the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Permit Finals (October 4-6), the Ram Texas Circuit Finals (October 8-11 with the Chute-Out finals on October 12th), and the Mexican Rodeo Spectacular (October 13th).
Music lovers can enjoy a variety of performances on the Ziegenbock Music Stage, including Texas country favorites Randy Rogers Band (October 4th), Nashville country singer-songwriter Dustin Lynch (October 5th), and longtime Texas country star Clint Black (October 12th).
