**Chatham, NY** – Douglas Robert Hults, a longtime Chatham resident and truck driver, passed away on Sunday, September 15th, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. He was 74 years old.

Hults was born in Queens, NY, on February 21, 1950, and had a passion for driving that spanned 47 years. He was known for his extensive knowledge of the road and took pride in sharing his experiences with his son, Scott, who also pursued a career in trucking.

In recent years, Hults served as Resident Manager of Edgewood Acres in Chatham for Garden Homes Management Corporation.

He is survived by his companion, DeAnn Reed, his mother, Dorothy Muller Pischinger, his children, Scott, Andrew, Melissa, Jennifer, and Autumn, his grandchildren, Seth, Mark, Harleigh, and Ava, and his brothers Clayton, Robert, and Timothy.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 20th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wenk Funeral Home in Chatham, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at Ghent Union Cemetery.
