Popular Kenyan comedian, Shaniqwa, known for his comedic talents since the age of 23, has revealed personal struggles and his journey to finding happiness.
During a candid conversation on the “Lessons at 30” show hosted by Dr. Ofweneke, Shaniqwa shared his experience as a single father navigating the challenges of raising his child while facing a difficult breakup.
Five years ago, Shaniqwa found himself jobless and struggling to provide for his son. He openly expressed the pain of being a single father, lamenting, “I didn’t deserve it. Everyone has their faults, but I didn’t deserve it, and my son didn’t deserve it. I went through hell, watching my world crumble.”
The comedian admitted that he ignored red flags in the relationship, such as late-night calls and a lack of transparency from his partner. He revealed, “I saw it — those midnight calls. It happened after I had organized a job for her because she was a housewife. Back then, I was working at KTN, but after I got fired, she became the breadwinner.”
Despite the pain of the breakup, Shaniqwa chose to forgive, emphasizing that he holds no grudges and sees the importance of forgiveness. “I forgive because if I don’t forgive, who will forgive me for my sins? I’m not a saint,” he said.
Now, Shaniqwa is looking to the future, revealing that he is in a happy relationship and plans to remarry soon. “Right now, I’m in a good relationship. I’m living a good life and in good hands. I thank God,” he shared.
Shaniqwa’s story highlights the importance of resilience and forgiveness in the face of personal challenges. He offers a message of hope and inspiration, showing that even amidst difficult times, it is possible to find happiness and move forward.
