Wed Sep 18 06:22:00 UTC 2024: ## Ford Ranger Tremor: A New Flavor in a Packed Lineup
The Ford Ranger, already boasting a diverse range of versions, adds another player to the game: the Tremor. This new addition, priced at R978,600, positions itself between the Wildtrak 2.0 BiT 4×4 and Wildtrak-X 4WD, offering a unique blend of off-road capability and practical features.
The Tremor comes equipped with special Bilstein shock absorbers, increasing ground clearance to 261mm, and boasts a 30mm wider track than its stablemates. It inherits aesthetic cues from the Wildtrak-X, including LED auxiliary driving lights and blacked-out Ford emblems. Functional upgrades include aluminum side steps, a steel bash plate, underbody protection, and two front tow hooks.
Inside, the Tremor features “Tremor” embroidery, rubberized floors, and the debut of the Pro Trailer Backup Assist function. This innovative system, also available on the Wildtrak-X and Raptor, utilizes a camera system and a rotary driving mode controller to assist drivers in reversing with a trailer attached.
Powered by the 2.0 BiT engine (154kW/500Nm) paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Tremor offers a smooth and capable driving experience, achieving an average fuel consumption of 11l/100km.
Despite the crowded Ranger lineup, the Tremor stands out with its unique blend of off-road features and practicality. Priced below the R1 million mark, it provides an appealing alternative to the Wildtrak-X for those looking to save some money while enjoying enhanced off-road capabilities.
