Wed Sep 18 06:07:00 UTC 2024: ## Norfolk High Volleyball Falls to Lincoln North Star in Hard-Fought Match
Norfolk, NE – The Norfolk High Panthers volleyball team suffered their fourth consecutive loss on Tuesday, falling to the Class A No. 8-rated Lincoln North Star Navigators 3-1.
The Panthers showed resilience in the second set, winning 25-18 after a dramatic rally that saw both teams diving for the ball. However, North Star proved too strong in the final two sets, winning 25-11 and 25-15.
“It’s a game of mistakes, and we made a lot of them in the losses,” said Norfolk coach Dave Hepner. “We showed that we could play with a really good team, but we just made too many mistakes to beat them.”
Despite the loss, senior Jaden Kiichler shone for the Panthers, recording 14 kills, three aces, and two blocks.
Hepner acknowledged that the team’s youth is a factor in their struggles, but expressed confidence in their ability to turn things around. “We’ve got the hitters, the setters and the passers to succeed. It’s just about confidence,” he said.
The Panthers face another tough opponent on Friday when they travel to face No. 3 Millard West. “Our schedule is never easy, but we have a good opportunity to get some wins,” Hepner stated. “We just have to clean it up.”
