**Robina, QLD** – A bus security officer is recovering in hospital after being allegedly stabbed outside Robina Town Centre on Wednesday afternoon. Police are currently investigating the incident, which occurred around 1pm near an entrance beside a Target outlet.
According to witnesses, a young male, described as a teenager, allegedly attacked the 60-year-old officer before fleeing the scene. The officer, who was patrolling bus stops at the time, sustained a stab wound to the hip but his injuries are not considered life-threatening. He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
Police have established a crime scene at the shopping centre and are actively investigating the incident. A heavy police presence, including forensics and detectives, was reported at the scene. A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed that the alleged offender has left the scene and is being sought by authorities.
