Wed Sep 18 06:08:00 UTC 2024: ## Aussie Betting Giant Tabcorp Ditches Work-From-Home, Orders Staff Back to Office Full-Time

**Sydney, Australia** – Following in the footsteps of Amazon, Tabcorp, Australia’s leading betting company, has announced a return to full-time office work for all office-based staff. Effective immediately, employees will be required to be present in the office five days a week, marking a significant shift from the company’s previous flexible work policy.

The decision was conveyed to employees in a memo from the executive leadership team, emphasizing the importance of fostering a “winning culture” and facilitating collaboration.

“Having us together as a team, focused and driving towards our goals will deliver outcomes and success,” the memo stated. “Being connected as a team also drives a winning culture and supports us to collaborate and achieve our best.”

While the company will remain flexible in allowing for occasional remote work, the default position will now be to work from the office every day.

This shift comes shortly after Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced a similar policy, citing the benefits of in-person collaboration and the need to foster a strong company culture.

Tabcorp CEO Gillon McLachlan, who joined the company in August, has been a vocal advocate for a return to the office, emphasizing the importance of face-to-face interaction in driving success.

This move marks a significant shift in workplace culture in Australia, as many companies continue to embrace hybrid work models. It remains to be seen whether other major Australian companies will follow suit and enforce a full return to the office.
