Sun Sep 15 17:46:40 UTC 2024: ## Texas A&M Upsets Florida, Ending Road Losing Streak

Texas A&M (2-1, 1-0 SEC) pulled off a major upset on Saturday, defeating the Florida Gators (1-2, 0-1 SEC) in Gainesville. The victory marked the Aggies’ first SEC road win in 10 games and gave head coach Mike Elko his first conference win of the season.

The game was notable for the absence of starting quarterback Conner Weigman, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury. Redshirt freshman Marcel Reed stepped in and made his first career start, leading the Aggies to victory. Reed showcased his athleticism, rushing for 84 yards and throwing for 117 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite Reed’s impressive performance, Texas A&M’s dominant running game and strong offensive line were the driving forces behind the victory. While Weigman’s health status remains uncertain, Reed’s performance has given the Aggies confidence heading into their matchup against Bowling Green next week.

The Aggies’ victory has propelled them into the US LBM Top 25 rankings at No. 24. Georgia, despite a close win against Kentucky, remains at No. 1.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green this Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
