Mon Sep 16 20:01:12 UTC 2024: ## Modi Inaugurates Development Projects in Gujarat, Takes Swipe at Opposition
**Ahmedabad, September 16, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth over ₹8,000 crore in his home state of Gujarat. This included the launch of the new metro line between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, a new train connecting Kutch and Ahmedabad, and the flagging off of the Bhuj-Ahmedabad Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, the first Vande Bharat Metro service, and five Vande Bharat express trains.
During his speech, PM Modi took a veiled swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of spreading negativity and attempting to undermine India’s unity and integrity. “Certain individuals filled with hate and negativity are maligning the country’s image and attempting to divide it,” Modi said, without naming Gandhi directly.
He further criticized opposition leaders for advocating for the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, questioning their motives and asking if they desired two constitutions for the region.
Modi, in his first visit to Gujarat after the Lok Sabha polls, emphasized the importance of unity and trust in India’s progress. He highlighted the growing international interest in India and the influx of foreign investment, crediting his government’s policies for this positive outlook.
“When the trust in India increases, our exports increase and more investment comes into the country,” he stated, adding that some individuals are working against this progress by spreading negativity and division.
