**Bhubaneswar, Odisha:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 74th birthday today, September 17th, with a focus on development and social welfare. He will inaugurate 26 lakh houses built under the PM Awas Yojana in Gadakana, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The prime minister will also visit the Gadakana slum to interact with beneficiaries of the scheme and later launch the Subhadra Yojana at Janata Maidan.
President Droupadi Murmu extended greetings to the prime minister, praising his leadership and commitment to India’s prosperity. “On the strength of your personality and work, you have provided extraordinary leadership and increased the prosperity and prestige of the country,” she wrote on X.
PM Modi’s birthday celebrations have often been marked by significant events and initiatives. Last year, he inaugurated the PM Vishwakarma Yojana to enhance the skills of craftsmen and artisans. Two key infrastructure projects, the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) and the extension of the Delhi Airport Express line, were also launched in 2023.
In previous years, PM Modi’s birthday has seen the release of cheetahs into Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park, record-breaking vaccine administration during the Covid-19 pandemic, and nationwide community service initiatives.
