**Kolhapur, Maharashtra:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated a new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Pune and Hubballi via video link, marking a significant milestone in regional connectivity for both Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The new train, which is the 10th Vande Bharat Express for Karnataka and the 11th for Maharashtra, boasts a high-speed, comfortable journey. It covers the 557 km distance between Pune and Hubballi in just 8.5 hours, reducing travel time by around 3 hours compared to other trains.

The Pune-Hubballi Vande Bharat Express is set to benefit several key locations along its route, including:

* **Hubballi-Dharwad:** A major industrial and commercial center in North Karnataka
* **Belagavi:** Home to prestigious medical and engineering institutions
* **Miraj:** Known for its classical music instruments
* **Sangli:** Renowned for agricultural produce
* **Satara:** Known for its scenic beauty

The train features a comfortable eight-coach configuration with a seating capacity of 530 passengers. Advanced technology, including a state-of-the-art suspension system, ensures a smooth and comfortable journey.

The train will operate on a tri-weekly schedule, departing from Pune on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 2:15 PM and reaching Hubballi at 10:45 PM the same day. The return journey from Hubballi to Pune will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 5:00 AM and arriving in Pune at 1:30 PM.

The Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna, who was present at the launch ceremony in Kolhapur, has expressed his intention to secure another Vande Bharat Express for Karnataka. He highlighted the significance of the new train services for both states, emphasizing their impact on improving rail connectivity and economic growth.
