Sun Sep 15 16:55:35 UTC 2024: ## Playboi Carti’s Birthday Bash Shut Down by NYPD, Rapper Apologizes to Fans

Playboi Carti’s birthday celebration in Brooklyn, New York, was abruptly shut down by the NYPD on Saturday, September 14th. Hundreds of fans gathered outside the Brooklyn Warehouse venue, hoping to join the rapper for his birthday festivities. However, police intervened, forming a barrier at the entrance and ordering attendees to leave.

Video footage circulating on social media shows the NYPD using batons to disperse the crowd as they refused to leave.

Playboi Carti, whose actual birthday is September 13th, was reportedly inside his vehicle, witnessing the chaos unfold. He took to Instagram to issue an apology to his fans, stating that he was told he would be arrested if he left his vehicle.

“NYPD shut me down I tried soo hard to celebrate with you tonight,” Carti wrote. “I was outside the whole time they told me they would lock me up if I got out the car. Its my f**kin biryhday WTF.”

The reason for the NYPD’s intervention is unclear, and XXL has reached out to the department for comment.

Despite the unfortunate incident, Carti is still preparing to release his highly anticipated album, “Music,” featuring a collaboration with Ye. The rapper recently released his single “All Red” and revealed that Ye played a significant role in the album. Carti’s previous collaboration with Ye, “Field Trip” from “Vultures 2,” also featured Ty Dolla $ign, Don Toliver, and Kodak Black.
