Sun Sep 15 17:17:05 UTC 2024: ## Penn State Slips in Coaches Poll, Tennessee Jumps Ahead

Penn State dropped one spot to No. 8 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, falling victim to strong performances by other teams. The Nittany Lions were off this week and unable to improve their ranking.

Notable movement in the top ten included Texas overtaking Ohio State for No. 2 after a dominant victory over UTSA. Tennessee, Penn State’s upcoming opponent, soared to No. 6 after a 71-0 thrashing of Kent State, leapfrogging the Nittany Lions.

The Big Ten lost one team from the rankings, Washington, after their loss to Washington State. Michigan dropped to No. 17, while Nebraska rose to No. 22.

Newcomers Texas A&M and UNLV entered the poll at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.

Penn State will look to regain momentum next week against a struggling Kent State team.
