Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir – Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh), was celebrated with religious fervour across Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Thousands of Muslims gathered at mosques and shrines, including the revered Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar, for special prayers and to commemorate the Prophet’s life and teachings.
The festive atmosphere was evident in the vibrant decorations and illuminated streets. Devotees at Hazratbal had the opportunity to view the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) after pre-dawn prayers and throughout the day.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi emphasizes the importance of peace, love, and empathy, promoting harmony within the Muslim community and fostering understanding of Islam’s core values. Religious leaders across the region delivered sermons on the Prophet’s teachings, strengthening the community’s faith and reminding everyone of the importance of compassion and unity.
To accommodate the large number of devotees, the Hazratbal shrine administration put in place extensive arrangements, including additional transportation, security measures, and sanitation services.
