Mon Sep 16 15:50:54 UTC 2024: ## Jane’s Addiction Cancels Tour After Onstage Fight Between Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro

**BOSTON** – Alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction has abruptly canceled their current tour following a physical altercation between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro during a Friday night concert in Boston.

Videos of the incident show Farrell lunging at Navarro, shoving him with his shoulder before attempting to punch him. Navarro was seen blocking Farrell’s attacks before being pulled away by others on stage. The show ended shortly after, with the band issuing an apology.

Farrell later released a statement to Variety and The New York Times, expressing remorse for his actions. “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show,” he said. “Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”

Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, posted on Instagram that her husband had been struggling with increasingly loud stage volume, which was drowning out his vocals. She explained that he was suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat, and was “screaming just to be heard” by the end of the set. Following the incident, Farrell reportedly broke down and cried.

The band’s “Imminent Redemption” tour, featuring opening act Love and Rockets, was scheduled to run until October 16th. This tour marked the first extended run of shows by the original Jane’s Addiction lineup, featuring Farrell, Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Eric Avery, since 2010.

In a statement posted on Navarro’s Instagram, the remaining members of Jane’s Addiction expressed concern for Farrell, stating, “We hope that he will find the help he needs.”
