Mon Sep 16 15:51:31 UTC 2024: ## WordPress Community Team Announces New Marketing Guidelines and Updated Roles

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

The WordPress Community Team has announced updates to its marketing guidelines and program roles. The new guidelines, found in the WordCamp/WordPress Events handbook, offer event organizers the ability to allocate a portion of their budget for marketing and advertising efforts. This aims to reach wider audiences, particularly first-time attendees, while ensuring efficient use of resources.

“We are thrilled to offer this new opportunity to our event organizers,” said [Name of Community Team Member], a member of the WordPress Community Team. “By providing dedicated funding for marketing, we can help ensure that our events are as successful as possible and reach the broadest audience.”

The new guidelines, including information on the WordPress/WordCamp trademark, are available for review in the Advertising/Marketing Expense Guidelines section of the handbook. Event organizers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines before submitting their budget requests.

The Community Team has also updated its program roles, with new titles reflecting the evolving responsibilities of team members. The new roles are:

* **Event Supporter** (formerly Mentor)
* **Program Supporter** (formerly Deputy)
* **Program Manager** (formerly Super Deputy)

These dedicated individuals from around the world provide invaluable support to WordPress community events, including mentoring, application review, lead organizer interviews, and general event organization.

“We have a fantastic team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting the WordPress community,” added [Name of Community Team Member]. “With these updated roles and guidelines, we can continue to strengthen our efforts and ensure that our events are a valuable resource for everyone involved.”

The WordPress Community Team welcomes everyone to participate in their discussions, policy debates, and event organization efforts. Team meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 12:00 UTC and 21:00 UTC on Slack in #community-team.
