Sun Sep 15 17:06:49 UTC 2024: ## Notre Dame Climbs Rankings After Dominant Win Over Purdue
**SOUTH BEND, IN** – Following a resounding 66-7 victory over in-state rival Purdue, Notre Dame football has climbed one spot to No. 18 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll. The Irish, who suffered a surprising loss to Northern Illinois in Week 2, look to continue their momentum this Saturday as they host another Mid-American Conference opponent, Miami (Ohio).
Despite the early season setback, Notre Dame has regained some of its national recognition. They currently sit at No. 17 in the Associated Press poll, also moving up one spot after the Purdue win.
Meanwhile, several future Notre Dame opponents and a past victim are featured in the Top 25. USC fell to No. 12 and Louisville rose to No. 20 in the Coaches Poll. Texas A&M, who fell to Notre Dame in the season opener, returned to the rankings at No. 24 after a victory over Florida. The Aggies are also ranked 25th in the AP poll.
While the Irish continue to climb the rankings, the College Football Playoff selection committee won’t release its first rankings until November 5th.
