Radhika Gupta, CEO and MD of Edelweiss Mutual Funds, has revealed that she chooses to drive a Toyota Innova over a luxury car despite her financial capability. In a recent podcast, Gupta explained that while she appreciates expensive cars, she is wary of their depreciation in value.
“I can afford it, but I can’t buy it,” she said about luxury cars. “Every time I tell myself I’ll buy a fancy car, I think a car is a depreciating asset. I don’t drive much and even if I do, 30 percent of the value will be gone.”
Gupta also shared how her perspective on wealth has shifted since her younger years. She used to feel insecure about not owning designer items, but now, as one of India’s youngest CEOs, she no longer feels the need to impress. “My place, my life,” she confidently stated when questioned about her choice of car. Gupta believes she has “nothing to prove” and that her financial success doesn’t require expensive displays of wealth.
Gupta’s net worth is estimated at Rs 41 crore, as per the Times of India. Despite her wealth, she prioritizes value and personal contentment over material possessions, setting an example of financial independence and self-assurance.
