Sun Sep 15 12:32:15 UTC 2024: ## Harris’ Accent Draws Online Mockery at Black Caucus Event

**WASHINGTON, D.C.** – Vice President Kamala Harris has faced online ridicule for using a new accent while addressing the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Dinner on Saturday evening.

Harris’s greeting, “Hello to all of my Divine Nine brothers and sisters… And to all my HBCU brothers and sisters,” caught the attention of many, with some on social media accusing her of using a “fake black accent.”

The Vice President’s use of varied accents has been a topic of discussion previously. Earlier this month, she was criticized for seemingly employing different accents while campaigning in Detroit and Pittsburgh. When questioned about this by Fox News’ Peter Doocy, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed the inquiry, stating that Americans are more concerned with issues such as the economy and healthcare.

The online criticism comes at a time when Harris is actively courting Black voters. President Biden, speaking before Harris at the Black Caucus dinner, referenced her historical position as the first Black and South Asian woman vice president, and expressed his hope that she would become the first female president.

Harris’s upcoming events include a meeting with members of the National Association of Black Journalists in Philadelphia on Tuesday and a live-streamed rally headlined by Oprah Winfrey on Thursday.

**Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris campaign for comment but received no response.**
