**JOHANNESBURG -** Gauteng Health has announced plans to improve conditions at Helen Joseph Hospital, following concerns raised by staff about the current state of the facility.
MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko acknowledged the challenges faced by staff and outlined a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing both the working environment and patient experience.
“We are committed to creating a more conducive space for our dedicated healthcare workers,” said Nkomo-Ralehoko. “This includes addressing infrastructure issues, investing in new equipment, and providing essential training to ensure a more patient-centered approach.”
The MEC emphasized that the improvements will take time, with some projects requiring months and others several years for completion. To expedite the process, Gauteng Health is collaborating with various stakeholders, including community organizations and private partners.
These initiatives come as a direct response to the concerns raised by staff at Helen Joseph Hospital who have expressed dissatisfaction with the current conditions.
