**Amsterdam, Netherlands** – Atomos, a leading provider of professional video equipment, announced a major update for its Shinobi II monitor at IBC 2024. The popular 5-inch 1500nit HDR monitor, designed for vloggers, creatives, and photographers, now boasts a revolutionary new feature: touch auto focus and subject tracking for both photo and video modes.
The update, which is completely free for all existing Shinobi II users, initially supports popular models from Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and Fujifilm. Nikon support for photo and video modes is also included, with auto focus and subject tracking functionality to be added in future updates.
“This is the beginning of a monitor revolution,” said Jeromy Young, Atomos CEO. “We’re excited to offer intuitive control on a larger monitor for all the major camera manufacturers.”
The Shinobi II, known for its slim design and bright display, also allows users to control their camera’s white balance, ISO, shutter speed, and aperture through its USB-C connection.
“Shinobi II has been a huge success since its launch,” added Young. “We’re committed to delivering features our users want, and this update is a direct result of their feedback. We’re thrilled to support six major manufacturers so quickly, and we have many more free updates planned.”
This collaboration between Atomos and leading camera manufacturers is a testament to their commitment to providing filmmakers with the best tools and technology available.
