Sun Sep 15 12:37:45 UTC 2024: ## Apple iPhone 16 Pre-orders Open: Limited Stock for Pro Max, FineWoven Cases Disappear

**San Francisco, CA – September 15, 2024** – Apple has officially launched its iPhone 16 lineup, confirming the eagerly anticipated schedule for the new devices. While pre-orders are now open, initial sales are revealing some interesting trends.

The iPhone 16 Pro is currently readily available in most colors and storage options, allowing customers to receive it on launch day or pick it up in store. However, the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max is experiencing limited stock, particularly for the 256GB White Titanium model which has a 3-4 week delay.

In a surprising move, Apple has retired its FineWoven cases for the iPhone 16, and existing FineWoven cases for the iPhone 15 series have also disappeared from the Apple website. This leaves only silicone and clear cases available for the new iPhones. While Watch Bands, iPhone Wallets, and AirTag keyrings remain available, the discontinuation of FineWoven cases indicates a shift in Apple’s approach to eco-friendly materials.

Apple is allowing customers to pre-select their desired model, payment method, and even pre-approve financing before pre-orders open. This process is open until 9 p.m. PDT today (September 12th) for West Coast customers, with pre-orders starting at 5 a.m. Pacific on Friday, September 13th.

The new iOS software, compatible with all iPhones from the iPhone Xr onwards, will be released on Monday, September 16th.

The iPhone 16 series will go on sale on Friday, September 20th, alongside the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black, AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation, and AirPods Max in new colors. The exact time of launch has yet to be confirmed, but it’s expected to be around 8 a.m. local time, starting with Australia and New Zealand due to time zones.
