Sun Sep 15 12:55:17 UTC 2024: ## 10-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling From Bronx Building Window

**Bronx, NY** – A 10-year-old girl tragically died after falling from a building window in the East Tremont section of the Bronx on Thursday evening. The incident occurred at 2157 Southern Boulevard around 8:45 p.m.

Police sources indicate that the young girl may have been home alone at the time of the fall. She sustained injuries consistent with a fall from a significant height, including bruising on her feet. Witnesses reported seeing her vomiting blood before being transported to St. Barnabas Hospital by a private vehicle, where she was pronounced dead.

According to sources, the girl and her mother had an argument earlier that day regarding the use of an iPad. The mother left for a doctor’s appointment around 4:30 p.m., returning to find her daughter lying in the courtyard outside their building.

Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage to determine if the child was supervised and whether she fell from a window or the roof. A memorial with pink flowers, purple balloons, and candles has been set up outside the building where the girl fell.

A long-time resident of the building, who called 911 unaware of the situation, described the mother as a “decent mom” who kept her children clean and well-cared for. She recalled the young girl as quiet and shy, adding, “She was a sweetheart.”

The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death. No charges have been filed, and no arrests have been made in the case.
