British-Nigerian-Indian designer Priya Ahluwalia is set to unveil her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “Home Sweet Home,” at London Fashion Week. The collection, a celebration of the homestead, delves deeper into what “home” represents, both literally and emotionally.
Ahluwalia, known for her powerful storytelling and commitment to sustainable practices, draws inspiration from personal experiences and her diverse heritage. The collection incorporates elements from family photographs, including leafy motifs from her mother’s childhood home and beaded curtains that inspire intricate embellishment.
“Everyone should be able to feel at home somewhere,” says Ahluwalia, acknowledging the ongoing global displacement and forced migration many face. Her collection touches on themes of belonging and finding comfort within personal connections.
“Home Sweet Home” will feature a live screening of Ahluwalia’s latest directorial work alongside jewellery pieces by Danish brand Pandora. The designer’s use of deadstock and recycled fabrics highlights her dedication to sustainable production, with this season’s collection incorporating materials sourced from Chloé.
Ahluwalia, whose brand has gained recognition as one of London’s most exciting young labels, reflects on the significance of showcasing at London Fashion Week, a platform that embraces diverse creative voices and independent brands. “It’s inclusive in a way other fashion weeks aren’t,” she says, highlighting the unique spirit of the event.
“Home Sweet Home” promises to be a poignant and introspective collection that speaks to the universal desire for belonging and finding comfort in the ever-changing world.
