**Abuja, Nigeria** – Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has condemned Royal Air Maroc for allegedly abandoning Nigerian passengers stranded in Morocco following a technical emergency landing.

According to Keyamo, the Moroccan airline’s flight from Casablanca to Abuja was forced to land in Marrakech due to technical difficulties. However, he alleges that Royal Air Maroc left the passengers, primarily Nigerians, without food, shelter, or proper care. The Minister expressed particular outrage over the plight of women and children forced to sleep on the floor.

In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Keyamo demanded immediate action from the airline to rectify the situation. He further instructed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s Consumer Protection Department to intervene and provide relief to the stranded passengers.

“I have directed the Consumer Protection Department of the NCAA to immediately engage ROYAL AIR MAROC NIGERIA to bring immediate relief to these Nigerians,” he stated.

The incident has sparked outrage amongst Nigerians, with the Minister calling for calm while urging the airline to prioritize the well-being of its passengers. The incident highlights concerns over the treatment of Nigerian travelers abroad and underscores the need for stricter regulations and accountability from airlines.
